The Unbreakable Bond between Pak Army and Kashmir: A Shield for Kashmir’s Right to Self-Determination

The Army has acted as a shield against Indian aggression and has fought to protect the Kashmir and Kashmiris. The Pakistani government and military have been clear in their stance on the Kashmir issue, advocating for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.

Since 2019, there has been a marked shift in India’s policy towards Kashmir and Pakistan, with the abrogation of the Kashmir special status and the issuance of millions of domicile certificates to the Hindu community. This has been seen by many as an attempt to dilute the indigenous population of Kashmir and erase their cultural identity. Furthermore, it has resulted in a more aggressive approach towards Pakistan, with Indian foreign policy designs becoming increasingly nefarious. This aggressive stance is reflected in India’s repeated claims that it will soon attack Pakistan in order to conquer Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. Such claims have understandably sparked concern and alarm among the international community. In contrast, Pakistani forces remain alert and ready to defend their homeland against any external threat. However, recent propaganda in Pakistan suggests that the country is planning to freeze the Kashmir conflict for the next 20 years and focus on building friendly relations with India. Such a move would represent a significant departure from Pakistan’s previous stance on the issue and would require careful consideration and analysis. This article aims to shed light on the Pakistan Army’s unwavering support for the people of Kashmir, and dispel the propaganda that the Army aims to freeze the Kashmir issue for two decades to resume bilateral ties. The Pakistan Army has been a staunch defender and protector of Kashmir since the region’s liberation in 1947, and has always advocated for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

Pakistan Army has a long-standing history of defending the people of Kashmir since the region was liberated in 1947. The Army has acted as a shield against Indian aggression and has fought to protect the Kashmir and Kashmiris. The Pakistani government and military have been clear in their stance on the Kashmir issue, advocating for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people, which is enshrined in the Article 257 of the Constitution of Pakistan. Despite facing significant challenges and resistance from India, the Pakistan Army has remained committed to defending the Kashmiri cause and protecting the rights of its people. This commitment has earned the Army a reputation as a defender and protector of Kashmir, and its efforts have been widely recognized and appreciated by the people of Pakistan and Kashmir alike. The people of Kashmir consider Pakistan and its armed forces as their saviors, and believe that the dream of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Quaid e Kashmir Movement Syed Ali Gilani for IIOJK to become an integral part of Pakistan is not far away.

Pakistan’s new Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir recently paid his first visit to the Pakistani side of the Line of Control (LoC) and made an explosive statement against India, and expressed his confidence about Pakistan’s military capabilities. Answering the Indian leadership for their irresponsible statement on issue of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, Munir, a former spymaster, claimed that Pakistan’s armed forces are “ever ready” and not only ready to defend every inch of their motherland but also to take the fight back to the enemy. He further claimed that India’s nefarious designs will never be able to achieve their objectives. These claims made by the new army chief can reflect Pakistan’s plan to commit mischiefs in the region, according to reports. Speaking on the Kashmir issue, General Munir said, “The world must ensure justice and deliver what is promised to the Kashmiri people as per UN resolutions.” He then went on to conclude his strings of threats and said, “Any misconception resulting into a misadventure will always be met with the full might of our armed forces backed by a resilient nation.” This statement by former spymaster-turned-army chief General Asim Munir in full support of the Kashmir Movement has revitalized the pro-movement sentiment and cleared the recent propaganda of freezing the issue for 20 years. Pakistan will continue to extend its political, diplomatic, and moral support to the people of IIOJK in their struggle for the right of self-determination. The people of Kashmir believe in the principle of equality and demand a respectable, free life with no discrimination of rights from the rest of the world. The armed forces of Pakistan stand with the Kashmiris in their struggle for the right of self-determination and are well-prepared to give a befitting response to any Indian misadventure. He further reiterated that, the Kashmir dispute must be resolved as per the UN Resolutions on the basis of the right of self-determination, which is the birthright of the people of IOJK. The armed forces of Pakistan condemn international silence on the Kashmir issue and express their will to fight against India’s expansionist designs in the region.

It is worth highlighting that the appointment of former spy-master Munir as Pakistan’s new army chief has reinforced the nation’s unwavering stance on the Kashmir issue. Munir’s recent statement can be interpreted as a direct challenge to India’s leadership and represents a further escalation of tensions between the two neighboring countries. Moreover, his claims about Pakistan’s military capabilities can be viewed as a befitted response towards India, which could lead to a further deterioration of the relations between both states. General Munir’s statement also reflects the Pakistani armed forces’ resolute loyalty to the Kashmiri people and their struggle for self-determination. Pakistan has always maintained that the Kashmir issue must be resolved in accordance with UN resolutions, and Munir’s statement reiterates this stance unequivocally. It is pertinent to note that Munir made these statements on December 3, which coincides with the same day that Pakistan carried out preemptive strikes under operation Chengiz Khan in 1971, marking the formal initiation of hostilities in the India-Pakistan war of 1971. Although the Pakistani air strikes did not inflict any damage to the IAF airfields and resulted in the loss of four aircraft, the unwavering commitment of the Pakistani armed forces to the Kashmiri cause remains steadfast. In essence, Munir’s statement serves as a testament to Pakistan’s unwavering stance on the Kashmir issue and its continued support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. In short, the stance of Pakistan and armed forces on the Kashmir issue has been consistent and unwavering for decades. The country has always maintained that it will not compromise on the issue of Kashmir and will continue to support the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination. Therefore, any propaganda suggesting that Pakistan is willing to freeze the Kashmir issue for the next two decades is baseless and should not be believed. Pakistan’s commitment to the resolution of the Kashmir issue remains firm and unwavering.
